Job Description:

Senior Full Stack JavaScript Developer

A five-year old company (based in the Richmond/Abbotsford area) which has become well-known for the manufacture and sale of a high-end product for the home is experiencing high growth and therefore needs to expand their digital capabilities.

They wish to hire a talented developer who can help them to build back-end and front-end systems which improve things such as ordering, customer communications, warehousing and logistics. They believe that developing new and innovative ways to deliver personal experiences via their digital channels is what puts them ahead of the market.

This job is not for somebody who just wants to sit and code. They want somebody who is going to analyse business processes and suggest new creative solutions to solve any issues which arise. There is zero bureaucracy or hierarchy, so you will be trusted and empowered to make decisions and implement changes which will have a positive effect on the company growth and success.

This role reports into the existing Technical Lead who has so far worked on their own to develop new software.

Technical Skills
  • Strong core HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills
  • Commercial experience using ReactJS to build UI components
  • Node/Express
  • AWS/Lambda (not essential)
  • GraphQL (not essential)
  • TypeScript (not essential)
  • TDD approach
  • Git
  • Comfortable with best practice around databases (ideally Postgres)
  • Knowledge of software architecture
  • Understanding of UX design principles
Soft Skills
  • Fantastic at analysing and solving problems
  • Exceptional communication/presentation skills
  • Willing to share ideas and suggest new ways of working
  • Passionate about technology and building innovative solutions
  • Thirst for learning
  • Desire to continually improve your skills
  • Great personality, sense of humour and ability to work well within a small team
