Data Manager - Data Quality Framework, Data Analytics

The Company

Opportunity to join a rapidly growing team and business who are responsible for setting the industry standards. The ideal person for this role will have worked within financial services ideally managing data teams within a highly regulated environment.

An understanding of the regulatory bodies within this area would also be an advantage.

The Role

The position sits within the Risk and Data Analytics Division. In this role you will lead the team responsible for ensuring a robust framework for ensuring data quality.

The Risk and Data Analytics Division provides risk specialist, data and analysis support to their business. Data Analytics is responsible for the collection of data and providing users internal and external to their organisation with access to data and analysis.

Areas of Focus

Data Quality Framework - Establish and implement their data quality framework
Relationship management - Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Business operational/ management - Plan activities to meet strategic objectives for the team and procure resources to achieve plan
Monitor and report progress against plan and resolve issues
People Management - Manage the ongoing people/career development of staff ensuring they have access to training and other professional development opportunities to support capability required.

Key challenges:

  • Leading and development of a high performing team through a range of data analytics skills to support high-quality analysis and risk assessment.
  • Modelling inclusive leadership behaviours and instilling an open culture within the team, where divergent views are shared and respected
  • Determining appropriate methods for ensuring data quality is fit for purpose.
  • Meeting international statistical standards for data quality.
  • Establishing and maintaining transparency with internal and external stakeholders in relation to data quality.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with other areas of the business, including frontline supervisors and risk specialists.
  • Maintaining an up to date and relevant knowledge of economic and financial market issues that may impact the industry.
Skills / Experience required

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Up-to-date, broad knowledge of industry trends and regulatory developments
  • Strong analytical, investigative and research skills, including data analysis and presentation.
  • Knowledge of data quality methods
  • Knowledge of the different types of statistics collected
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
