Job Description:

My client is a forward thinking business, focussed on customer outcomes and fostering a collaborative and flexible culture for their employees. In this 2nd line role, you will be responsible for ensuring ongoing alignment between risk and strategy, the maintenance and enhancement of the Risk Management Framework and the monitoring and implementation of regulatory requirements, which will include the support with regulatory interactions.

Main responsibilities:
  • Providing risk support during the company's strategy and business planning processes, ensuring that customer outcomes and risk have been appropriately considered.
  • Partner with the business on an on going basis, providing advice and support on how to strengthen process, policies and controls.
  • Support the ongoing development of the Risk Management Framework.
  • Work cross functionally on a variety of projects and initiatives, interacting frequently with other risk teams, compliance and internal audit.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends that impact the business' day-to-day operations, obligations and risk profiles.
  • Support regular interactions with regulatory bodies, including supporting with reviews, requests and follow-up actions.
  • Help the business' continued implementation of prudential requirements
  • Reporting to the Board, Committees and the Executive team on all of the above.
The ideal candidate:
  • 3+ years experience in a Risk/Compliance/Legal focussed role, preferably within Financial/Professional Services.
  • Tertiary qualified, Law/Finance/Business/Commerce or equivalent.
  • A solid understanding of APRA's prudential regulations.
  • Top-tier written and verbal communication skills.
  • A forward-thinking strategic mindset, with the ability to work independently.
  • An inclusive, flexible and collaborative style of working.
