About the business:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Commercial Analyst OR a first time mover from Public Practice to join a close knit finance team.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the client is looking for someone to demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting and analytical skills who will be accountable for generating reliable and accurate reports for commercial projects and stakeholders.

About the role:
  • Reviewing business KPI's and internal controls to meet management objectives and ensure the safeguarding of assets
  • Data gathering to ensure accuracy in the reporting processes, including validation of source data and reconciliations
  • Creating and tracking financial budgets and operational forecasts
  • Partnering with different stakeholders across the business to provide the commercial influence that can ultimately drive positive outcomes
  • Maintain and manage reporting requirements for relevant business departments
  • Prepare and drive business plans/business initiatives in the best interests of the company
  • Prepare plans of action for investment based on financial analyses
  • Participate in the preparation of capital expenditure plans and annual budgets for business areas as delegated
  • Provide technical assistance in the design of cost accounting or reporting systems and related forms and documents
  • Perform specialised financial or cost analyses and related reports
About you:
  • Demonstrated 3-5 years' experience in a similar accounting position
  • Tertiary qualified in Commerce specialising in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA/CA/CFA (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite: Particularly Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong data interrogation skills and the ability to turn data into meaningful information.
  • Confidence to work autonomously & a driven self-starter to achieve results
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team-based attitude; willing to go outside of required duties to support the team to achieve objectives
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks
