Job Description:

A Business Analyst is required within a global fund manager to focus on enterprise projects across a global framework. Working within a project delivery team the Business Analyst will be involved in leading a variety of small to medium scale initiatives as well as supporting project management activities across the broader end to end project life cycle. Although this role will at times be focussed on working with IT the role sits within the business and will be best suited to an organisational change versus technology change professionals.

Key responsibilities within the Business Analyst - Funds Management role:
  • Leads the entire project life-cycle for small-medium scale projects and conducts business analysis in support of corporate, cross-functional initiatives ensuring the end result meets the client’s requirements. Ensures user requirements are clearly understood and defined in functional requirement documents, develops and documents Business Process maps, and recommends solutions to improve business process effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Defines, plans, coordinates, documents, and implements project plans. Works with relevant stakeholders to determine the scope, requirements and solutions for assigned projects and ensures integration with other project teams. Meets established project milestones, goals and objectives within established time frames by utilising a disciplined approach to delivering within budget and timelines. Assists team with the identification, evaluation, and resolution of potential obstacles which may have an impact on the completion of the project.
  • Manages transition issues when new enhancements, changes, or products are introduced and provides additional support to users where necessary. Understands change management and anticipates the types of issues that may arise during such transitions, and takes steps to proactively resolve those issues.
  • Uses strong understanding of financial systems, operations and regulatory requirements and identifies issues and risks associated with the project environment and provides technical support for project implementation.
  • Acts as a champion to the structured project management approach to encourage strong practices around the organisation.
  • Develops testing strategy and sets up testing environments for projects. Engages in systems testing, facilitates user acceptance testing and obtains appropriate sign-off for changes and enhancements. Produces and maintains user documentation and/or business process maps and conducts training of users (including producing and maintaining training materials).
  • Provides review and mentoring to more junior business analysts and project administrators.

Key experience for the Business Analyst - Funds Management:
  • 5+ years funds management industry experience
  • Ideally exposure to broad enterprise type projects that cover not just one specific area of expertise.
  • 3+ years BA experience within established core business requirement gathering skills and excellent business case writing and communication skills
  • A patient and a conservative individual who enjoys working with stakeholders across a large global corporate structure will suit this role best.
  • Experience with formal project/software delivery methodologies advantageous
