The Role

As one of three Senior Bookkeepers reporting to the Practice Manager, your key responsibility will be to service a portfolio of clients, in all areas of GST advice and business advisory services.

You will be required to see clients face to face, to help with strategic client meetings, software selection & business mentoring.

Technical requirements will include preparing BAS, IAS, TPAR, Single Touch Payroll, Payroll Tax, & preparing Budgets for Sole Traders, partnerships, trusts, companies & self-Managed Superannuation Funds

You will also ideally bring a level of knowledge with respect to non-small Business advice, depreciation rules, SGC Obligations, co-invest administration & taxable payments annual reports. Equally, you'll be expected to stay abreast of new technologies and BAS taxation laws.

Internally, you will review your junior team's work and ensure it for quality, timeliness and execution. In this regard you will be task driven whilst demonstrating ability to work with other accountants and bookkeepers, helping and guiding then technically.

As a further part of your leadership, you will help to train & develop your team's technical skills with all aspects of financial statement preparation, bookkeeping and payroll processing. You managerial responsibilities will also include conducting monthly and annual performance reviews.


You will bring your own personality to this role as a face of the business. You will enjoy interacting with clients, building strong relationships and offering advice & expertise with a high level of passion & enthusiasm. Your rapport building skills and ability to problem solve will be paramount.

You will be a good leader, who can motivate, develop and train younger staff.

Ideally, you will have at least 7 to 10 years' experience in the field, with relevant qualifications.

Use of the following software should be noted: QuickBooks, MYOB Accounting, Xero Accounting (90% of Clients are on Xero), Xero Practice Manager, ReceiptBank, Slack, Practice Ignition / Protect.
