Job Description:

The Company
Currently undergoing a significant period of growth and change, this large private company has a number of excellent brands, is well known in their markets and has invested heavily in new technologies, capital equipment, business development, and strategic acquisitions all across Australia. As one of the oldest, most established companies in WA with a history covering 97 years, the Business operates within the Agricultural and FMCG sectors. With a lean and talented executive team, broad role scopes are the norm and this group gets things done.

The Business Unit, itself, is performing well and expects to carry on doing so as global market fundamentals support growth opportunities. Expansion into the international market will see market share expanding both locally and into Asia, with over 100 customers including blue-chip retail.

The Role
Supporting the CFO at Executive level and the Commercial and Operations Managers within the subsidiary, this position will be responsible for:
  • All financial and monthly management reporting across the division, liaising with the commercial, operational and sales teams.
  • Monthly and weekly operational KPI reporting.
  • Management of a small team of qualified and transactional employees looking for guidance and mentorship.
  • Capex and Cash Flow management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Budgeting and forecasting in tandem with operational, sales and commercial teams.
  • Inventory and stock management.
  • Financial modelling and specific analysis as requested by the CFO and Commercial Manager (Costing, New Products, Inventory Management etc)
  • Work with the Commercial Manager on projects such as improving reports using Power BI, implementing new software and management/operations systems to improve quality and efficiency of information provided.
  • Liaison with Head Office and preparation of information concerning tax and audit matters.

The scope may grow depending on the capacity and capability you bring to the table - don't ask about the job description, think of yourself as a problem solver and what you can get involved with. This is a hands on role, so be prepared to roll up your sleeves.

You – the Successful Profile
With commercial experience gained in manufacturing, agriculture, food processing and/or FMCG, ideally, you would have capabilities ensuring all reporting deadlines are met combined with the ability to improve systems and processes where necessary.

Additional requirements include:
  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience combined with a CA/CPA qualification would be required. Attention to detail is fundamental!
  • Excellent communication skills will help you thrive in an environment where you liaise across multiple operations and businesses and internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to apply your strong technical and analytical knowledge on a commercial basis will be demonstrable.
  • With strong financial modelling, excel skills and familiarity with analytical tools you will love adding value and identifying both cost saving and growth opportunities.
  • You will be inheriting a collaborative and productive team of juniors and you will enjoy upskilling and developing your people where appropriate, so proven ability to manage a successful team will be viewed favourably.
