The Company
Our client is a technology business that has experienced double-digit growth over the previous 2 years and is developing into a significant industry disruptor. The Company has established blue-chip clients on a national basis. This is a fast-paced role, where one day will be very different from the next. It is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a broad corporate accounting background to make a difference in the Business as it grows exponentially over the next 12 months.

As a result of growth and development, the company is seeking a Finance Manager to establish the Finance team. There will be a strong mentor in the role of the Executive Chairman (with a Finance background) who has successfully grown and sold well-known technology businesses within WA. This role is broad and incorporates core technical accounting as well as management reporting and a significant level of process improvement.

Major projects will involve improving operational, as well as, financial systems and controls, and the implementation of a new ERP.

The Role
In this role, you will be reporting to the Managing Director and the Executive Chairman. Key responsibilities include the provision of high quality, informative, accurate, reliable and timely financial accounts and reporting as well as managing and mentoring a bookkeeper.

Duties will include:
  • Preparation and analysis of statutory reporting on a yearly and half-yearly basis.
  • Liaising with external auditors and other external advisors.
  • Establishment and preparation of monthly management accounts with a focus on driving commercial performance improvement.
  • Preparation of consolidated and entity financial reporting.
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Working with the external tax advisors
  • Identify and project manage areas of process improvement in conjunction with colleagues inside and outside of finance
You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in audit from a mid-tier or Big 4 practice, along with experience in large listed or privately owned businesses. Experience in implementing new ERP systems and working with Power BI will also be considered favourably. Ideally, you will have already moved into an industry role although candidates at Manager level in Big 4 or second tier would also be considered. It is also essential that you are CPA or CA qualified (or similar) and have exceptional communication skills.
