Job Description:

FourQuarters Recruitment is proudly partnering with this exciting, mature start-up, in their search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

This Australian organisation, operating in a highly dynamic market, has already established itself as a leader and a differentiator. Following significant investment in their infrastructure and people, this organisation has experienced consistent revenue growth. Capitalising on this strong platform, they are forecast to grow in excess of 60% this year alone.

As a result of this growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for their first time.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) you will be an integral part of the Executive Leadership team and have overall responsibility for the organisation’s Financial and Commercial outcomes.

As the CFO you will provide operational support to the CEO on strategic and commercial matters. Your focus will be on maximising shareholder value by assuming accountability for the overall financial strategy and management of the organisation’s accounting and financial systems and business services.

Your responsibilities will include;
  • Provide key financial and operational information, as well as value-adding recommendations arising from information analysis, on a timely basis to management and business unit leaders
  • Working alongside the CEO in all investor relation activities (i.e. interacting with market analysts, bankers and shareholders) and engage with bankers and financiers to ensure the organisation is well capitalised
  • Providing financial and modelling support for M&A (business acquisitions and divestments), new product and service development and major projects/investments
  • Responsible for executive leadership, design and implementation of financial systems, analytics, processes and risk management frameworks
  • Co-ordinate the business planning process, including the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, forecasts and the strategic Plan (including the preparation of summary information and presentations for board meetings)
  • Management of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reporting requirements (including internal management / board reporting and associated statutory reporting)
  • Developing corporate level KPIs, measures and predictive measures to drive business optimisation
  • Management of the organisation's treasury & taxation functions (including management of funding, relationships with banks and external tax advisors etc.)
  • Performance management and development of the finance department and;
  • Establish and manage financial systems (including an ERP review implementation) and procedures across the business operations.
The successful candidate will be an experienced CFO (or a 'divisional' CFO in large corporate) possessing a CA or CPA accounting qualification (or equivalent). This is a senior leadership role within the organisation so exceptional communication and influencing skills are of critical importance. It is preferable that you have had prior experience working within organisations with recurring revenue streams (i.e. utilities, telecommunications or technology etc).

As a ‘hands on’ leader you will have an innate ability to oscillate between being ‘in the detail’ and ‘seeing the big picture’.

This organisation has an exciting future and as a result presents a remarkable opportunity for the right CFO.
